Safeguarding

Safeguarding Statement

At Shaftesbury Primary School we have a culture of vigilance in Safeguarding children. We respect and value all children and are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all our pupils so that they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. We believe every pupil should be able to participate in all school activities in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from harm.

Safeguarding is the responsibility of every adult employed by, or invited to deliver services at Shaftesbury Primary School. We recognise our responsibility to safeguard all who access the school and promote the welfare of all our pupils by protecting them from physical, sexual and emotional abuse, neglect and bullying.

If you are concerned about your child, or another child please speak to our dedicated Child Protection team in school. Ms Hussain is the Designated Safeguard Lead (DSL), Ms Begum, Ms Strutt, Mr Turner, Mr Hadlow are the Deputy Child Protection Officers and Ms Patel is our Family Support Worker. You can ask our school reception to request to see one of the DSLs.

Please have a look at the document below to find the statutory guidance for safeguarding children in education.  You will also find a copy of our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.

If you have safeguarding concerns about a pupil or adult, please contact the MASH team
