Awards

At Shaftesbury, we celebrate the children's successes and achievements in many ways. Every week, classes with the best attendance and punctuality are awarded  a special silver trophy to celebrate the highest attendance and punctuality percentages.

At the end of every term, children with 100% attendance win a medal. These medals are presented to the children by Mr Hadlow in a special attendance assembly.

As part of our school behaviour policy, there are 'Excellence' signs outside every classroom.  Each class has the opportunity to receive ten gold stars. A star can be allocated to a class for outstanding behaviour, excellent attendance and punctuality and demonstrating the 5Cs. When the children have obtained ten gold stars they receive a special reward for their class.

Throughout the academic year, children have the opportunity to nominate their friends and peers for a '5C Award'. Children can nominate people who have demonstrated the 5Cs in an exceptional way. Children who receive this special award are presented with a certificate and a prize during our weekly achievement assemblies.

The 'Writer of the week' award is a special award for writers who have written an excellent piece of work that week. Children receive a certificate and a prize and their exceptional writing is shared with the entire audience.

During 'Sports Week', the children win special badges for their participation and effort during sports day. Special certificates are given to those who showed excellent sportsmanship.  These certificates and awards are shared during our annual 'Sports Week' assembly where the overall winner is revealed.
