World Maths Day - 3rd March

Since Pythagoreans created the word “mathematics” in the 6th century BC, numbers have been a beneficial and challenging part of life.

First held in 2007, World Maths Day was originally celebrated on March 14 (3.14 or sometimes called “Pi Day”) but has since been changed to the first Wednesday in March. This is one of the largest global educational events on the planet!

To celebrate mathematics, this year, we are participating in a World Maths Day Times Table Rock Star Tournament on Wednesday 3rd March 2021. The Tournament will be virtual and children will need to login to Times Table Rock Stars ( and play the single player games to earn points for their class. The winning classes will be announced in next week's newsletter. We hope your child enjoys the day and celebrates maths with us.
