Assessment at Shaftesbury is robust and continuous. The children part take in 5 progress weeks across the academic year and sit an NFER test at the end of the year. Data is collected on 3 occasions and is used to set targets and monitor progress. Children are asked to self-assess and the teacher agrees or disagrees with these self-assessments. 

Evidence forms a vital part of the assessment process and therefore the books and continuous AFL is the cornerstone of the Shaftesbury Way.
